Our Team

Pablo serves as the Executive Director of Christian Legal Aid of D.C. (CLADC), a faith-based non-profit organization that provides free legal advice and services to low-income residents in the Washington, D.C. area. Inspired by Micah 6:8, CLADC provides access to justice to people who face significant barriers to reaching it. Before his service at CLADC, Pablo served as Regional President of Latin America for International Justice Mission – IJM, a faith-based, global nonprofit organization that protects people in poverty from violence. He led transformation projects to increase protection from violence and access to justice for women, children, and vulnerable groups in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Perú, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Colombia. He also made significant contributions to IJM’s leadership development, revenue and operations at a global level.

Pablo was born and raised in Guatemala, where he earned his law degree from Rafael Landivar University School of Law. He clerked at civil and criminal courts in Guatemala’s judicial courts and then practiced law with his father. He also served as external legal counsel to international and local nonprofit organizations. In addition, Pablo taught Constitutional Law and Human Rights at his alma mater. 

In addition to his law degree, Pablo obtained a master’s in organizational leadership from Eastern University and executive leadership studies from Harvard University and Cornell. 

Pablo has been married for 33 years and has three adult children, two of whom have followed in his footsteps as lawyers.

She is passionate about serving others and creating opportunities for access to legal services. She has volunteered with DC Central Kitchen, Atlas Performing Arts Center, among other international and legal organizations. As a Christian, she is honored to work in advancing CLADC’s mission.

Dave joins CLADC in this part-time role as he still manages his own practice. Dave is very excited to use the skills God has given him for such a noble cause.

Jacqueline A. Johnson is a devoted child of God, a role she considers paramount in her life. She works part-time as CLADC’s Intake Specialist and brings a wealth of experience as an event planner, business owner, and dedicated ministry leader. Jacqueline currently serves as the Hospitality and Events Director at Anacostia River Church in Washington, DC, where she has been a member since 2018. Her passion for serving others extends to her part-time work with a pro-life organization, advocating for mothers and babies in crisis. A proud Afro-Latina, Jacqueline was born in Panama, raised in northern Virginia, and served in the U.S. Air Force. She has been married to Durce for over 31 years and has lived in Southeast Washington DC for 29 of those years. She cherishes her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and a Titus 2 woman.

Rebeca grew up in Mexico, where she began volunteering in areas with limited access to services, from school tutoring to medical interpreting. She later studied sociology at Biola University and moved to Washington, DC to work with DC Public Schools. For over a decade, Rebeca worked to improve the connection and education of children within the special education, child welfare, and homeless services systems in the District. Rebeca is a member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church, and loves to see Christians  come together in service across the city, motivated by love of God and neighbor. She loves to keep learning, with favorite sources being her small children and deep conversation.  

Jeremy is married to his wonderful wife, Tiffany, and the Lord has blessed them with four wonderful children.

Before private practice, Kathlyn worked as in-house counsel for Fortune 100 corporations and what is currently known as the United States International Development Finance Corporation.

From 2013-17, he served on the board of directors for Jim White Community Fitness Foundation, a nonprofit that provides fitness and nutrition services to homeless and other underprivileged people in Hampton Roads. He is a member of Christ Our Shepherd Church in SE DC. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, playing basketball, and going for long runs.

From 2009-17, Karen served on the Board of Directors of Open Hands Legal Services, a Christian legal aid ministry serving low income New Yorkers. Karen and her family attend Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Virginia.

Sam has served on the CLADC Board since 2007. During that time, he has also served as clinic director at the Central Union Mission clinic and as a volunteer. Sam is currently Chief Legal Officer for an artificial intelligence company headquartered in Washington, DC. Previously, Sam was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for a global education technology company. From 2005-2010, Sam worked in the Washington, DC office of a large law firm. At the firm, he represented clients across the communications, education, healthcare, aerospace and defense industries. Sam received his J.D. with honors in 2005 from Georgetown University Law Center. Sam lives in the Washington, DC metro region with his artist wife and their two children. 

Daniel has served with CLADC as a volunteer since 2017 and joined CLADC’s board in 2024. Daniel Kim is currently the Sr. Healthcare Regulatory Counsel for a health information technology company headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. Previously, Daniel was an Associate at a D.C. law firm, practicing Healthcare Law. Daniel received his J.D. at American University Washington College of Law with honors in 2017. Prior to his legal career, Daniel was a biomedical researcher of 8+ years in the field of neuroscience, largely focused on spinal cord and optic nerve regeneration. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and their two adorable children. Daniel is an active member of Restoration Church serving on several ministry teams. Daniel loves to cook, play music, and spend time exploring new things and places with his family.

Dr. Carmelle T. Norice is an infectious diseases physician-scientist based in the Washington, D.C. metro area. The daughter of a father on medical parole after 25 years of confinement in a maximum-security Texas state prison, Carmelle compassionately serves and advocates for system-impacted individuals and families as a leader of prison and reentry ministry at National Community Church in Washington, D.C., a Justice Ambassador for Prison Fellowship, and a Board member of The Frederick Douglass Project for Justice. Carmelle previously served as a tutor for returning citizens at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a guest lecturer for both the Goucher Prison Education Partnership and the Young Men Emerging Unit at the D.C. Jail.
